“In the past, just like Bradley Cooper in A Star is Born, my first line for “icing” an injury was a big bag of frozen vegetables. The best veggies are peas (as opposed to frozen broccoli) since peas are small and as they thaw they mould around the spot of the injury & adequately numb the pain and act as an inexpensive anti-inflammatory. In a crunch, I would use ziploc bags full of jagged ice cubes where the actual ice surface rarely touched the injury, the sharp corners of the ice slid all over the offending spot, and someone would inevitably end up with a destructive pool of water.This product actually is so much better. I underwent a full knee replacement a week ago and this wrap was my GO-TO since. My swelling is almost gone and my healing has progressed much more quickly than average.This ice pack is comfortable, the wrap materials are not soft and non-abrasive on the incision area. It’s easy to put on, however I sometimes need assistance getting it off as the Velcro is very strong. The wrap is extremely adjustable, so if you have a larger leg, like me, it fits.The blue bags re-freeze quickly to a malleable cold gel which form fit the area around which this band is wrapped. It stays cold for 45-60 minutes. I have not used I as a warm wrap. That will come in the next couple of weeks. I look forward to that. I HIGHLY recommend this product.Lesson: don’t settle for frozen peas (unless you’re with Bradley Cooper and you punch someone & he offers to buy you a bag and hang out with you- then it’s ok) Just don’t settle.
